So....
Apparently the cat bath and subsequent shower were too much for the pipes in that bathroom. Something has burst and water is leaking into the bedroom closet on the other side of the wall. Landlord called the plumber and we turned off the water to the building, so now it’s a slow leak instead of a fast one, and now we’re just waiting for the plumber to get here and the cat’s not...
My cat and I are not friends right now
I had to give my cat a bath this morning, he sheds so much that normal cat “self-cleaning” can’t keep up with it and he ends up horking hairballs all over the place and there’s loose cat hair everywhere. Obviously, being a cat, he HATES bathtime. But into the bath he must go. Now he’s wet and sulking and I have a set of puncture wounds in the back of my calf.
Next...
BF off to guy’s night. While the cat’s away…the mouse will drink wine and catch up on the last 2 nights of So You Think You Can Dance ;)

My cat is an old man
He just curled up on the back of the sofa and made this groaning sound exactly like little old men do when they’re settling into a chair. It was adorable. Adorable little old man cat.

Damn. Damn, damn, DAMN. I am terribly disappointed right now. The only tiiiiiiiny sliver of silver lining to this cloud is that all of the people who got married before this BS ban was passed will have their marriages recognized. It’s not even close to enough.
Getting away
Just got back from a long weekend in Santa Barbara with Barrett. If you ever have the opportunity to spend a weekend there, I highly recommend it. I didn’t realize how much I needed the time away from the city until we were firmly ensconced in our B&B after a leisurely lunch on State Street.
